A vibrant purple-red wine crafted from twenty-year-old vines in a single vineyard plot named 'Les Amandiers'. Destemmed grapes undergo three weeks of maceration before a wild yeast fermentation in concrete and tapering wooden vats, followed by 9 to 12 months of lees aging to produce a velvety palate of red cherries, a touch of red pepper, and cleansing acidity.

Les Vins de la Gabare is a dedicated collaboration between importer Les Caves de Pyrene and a select group of local grape growers in the regions surrounding Anjou and Nantes. Named after the traditional flat-bottomed barges historically seen sailing along the Loire river, the project aims to produce authentic, accessible wines that faithfully reflect their terroir.

By focusing on single-parcel sites rich in clay and flint soils, the growers harvest hand-picked fruit at optimal ripeness using small crates to prevent any damage. In the cellar, the winemaking follows a hands-off approach with zero added sulphur, no filtration, and no fining, allowing the honest character of the Loire Valley to shine through in every bottle.
