Weihenstephan Korbinian Doppelbock 500ml (7.4%)
Weihenstephan Korbinian Doppelbock 500ml (7.4%)

The oldest existing brewery in the world, the Weihenstephaner brewery is located atop Weihenstephan Hill in the Bavarian city of Freising. Their Korbinian, the full-bodied, dark Doppelbock with light brown foam has a fine balance of fruity hints of plums and figs and a dark malt aroma - reminiscent of toffee, nuts and chocolate. The sweet notes are offset by roasted malt flavors making this beer an excellent accompaniment to smoked meats and fish. Also delicious with desserts or chocolate. Brewed according to a centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill - living history. A type of beer called a Starkbier, brewed since early 1600's, as a means to satisfy the hunger of Munich monks during Lent. While food was not permitted liquids were so the monks created a beer rich in nutrients and calories!
