Baltic Porters are one of the lesser known styles of the beer world. They are a bit of a cross between a Porter and Dark Lager. Most notably, the Baltic porter uses lager yeast, or cold-fermented ale yeast (vs warm fermented ale yeast used in Stout's and Porters), lending a cleaner taste.
This particular Baltic Porter has been lagered for 7 weeks and fermented cold, it has plenty of roasty chocolate notes, with some raisin and dried fruit as well. Coming in at 8.1%, it’s surprisingly really easy drinking!
