Northern Monk have enlisted Polish renegades of funk, Funky Fluid for the second installment of this series, and after discussing our mutual favourite fruited IPAs, they decided to go for a medley of tart berries and stone fruits. Starting with a single-hop IPA base using Mosaic in the whirlpool for its blueberry bubblegum aromas,theye went heavy on the fruit - over 200g of it per litre, jam-packed with blackcurrants for big punchy bramble character, backed up with tart and tannic plum, and finally a lingering bite of sour cherry on the finish - all added post-fermentation to keep the fruit tasting fresh and juicy. All of this gives a satisfyingly bright-purple hue, and a touch of vanilla rounds out the acidic edge, coming together for a soft and juicy smoothie mouthfeel.

It's a fantastic shop and I can't recommend it highly enough. Wonderful selection of beers, regular rotation of what's on tap and lovely helpful staff. If you can't make it in person their delivery options are great, and very quick if you live local. A really nice selection of low to no alcohol beers as well. You'd be a fool to not check it out.
