For the Gold Edition of Lucy's Fruited Sour IPA series, Northern Monk have taken the style to dizzying new heights with their thickest, fruitiest version yet - a Blackberry, Raspberry and Sweet Cherry Sour Smoothie IPA. Combining everything they've learned along the way with some new toys in the brewhouse, they started with a base of Super Pale malt, Wheat, and Jumbo Oats to give a full-bodied smoothie appearance and mouthfeel, gently hopped with Mosaic for subtle sweet blueberry. And then the real fun starts! Adding the fruit in post-fermentation to ensure maximum fresh, juicy flavour and vibrancy, the IPA was loaded with 250g/l of Raspberry and Blackberry, along with some Sweet Cherry to round out the sweetness and depth. The result starts off as a tart, fresh fruit smoothie up front, rounding out into lip-smacking sour chews, and sweet, sticky berry lip-gloss.

It's a fantastic shop and I can't recommend it highly enough. Wonderful selection of beers, regular rotation of what's on tap and lovely helpful staff. If you can't make it in person their delivery options are great, and very quick if you live local. A really nice selection of low to no alcohol beers as well. You'd be a fool to not check it out.
