Gueuzerie Tilquin Gueuze A L'Ancienne 375ml (7%)
£8.50

The Gueuze Tilquin à l’ancienne is a spontaneous fermentation beer obtained from the blending of 1, 2 and 3 years old lambics. Unfiltered and unpasteurized, it is re-fermented in the bottle for a minimum period of 6 months.

The lambics used were fermented and matured in Tilquins own oak barrels at the blendery. They are made from worts brewed by Boon, Lindemans, Girardin and Cantillon.
The taste is tart and dry but has a certain roundness that makes this Gueuze à l’ancienne particularly accessible. It will also delight fans of the genre for its sweet complexity. It also has a slight dry bitterness because of the youth of the oak barrels used, as they still release some tannins. It has a fresh lemony nose.

Average production time: 2 ½ years

Founded by Pierre Tilquin in early 2009, Gueuzerie Tilquin is a blendery in Bierghes, a borough of Rebecq located approximately 30 kilometers south-west of Brussels. Tilquin is the only lambic blendery in the mainly French-speaking, southern region of Wallonia. It opened its doors to the public in the summer of 2011.

Please note that the sale of these rare beers is limited to 1 bottle per person so that this labour of love can be enjoyed by as many people as possible.

This is at the request of the blendery and is a restriction that we fully endorse.  It's to be enjoyed, not traded.
