Crass Castle and Trinidad & Tobago Fine Cocoa Company bring you Trinitario chocolate stout, combining Yorkshire ingenuity and some of the finest cocoa in the world.

Around 1678 a hybrid between the Criollo and Forastero cocoa trees originated in Trinidad. Known for its floral, fruity characteristics, Trinitario is the predominant cocoa in fine/flavour chocolates today. In the 19th century Trinitario trees spread across the globe and can be found in Venezuela, Ecuador, Cameroon, Samoa, Sri Lanka, Java and Papua New Guinea. Most of the world’s cocoa supply is currently grown in Africa, from less flavoursome varietals.
