Imperial Stout aged for 15 months in 200 litre American oak barrels from Kentucky, USA. The first occasion that Basqueland have used this type of barrel, which spent the 4 previous years maturing bourbon before being filled with beer. The initial notes are intense bourbon aromas. These continue on the palate, and are complimented by layers of cocoa, walnuts, licorice, wood and caramel. This complexity is supported by a well-rounded body, with each sip helping illustrate the passage of time.
